Why

the foundation of this work is expressed through the faith defined in the Nicene Creed.

I believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty;

We believe that there is one God who has revealed himself as Father. In this sense God is relational and personal. He relates to us as his children, and as the masculine Will that gives direction, purpose and clarity to our lives.

Maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
God is first revealed to us as the Creator of all things. Those who are called to be artists, and who are blessed with a myriad of talents, reflect this unique aspect of the Father’s character. As makers we are called to reveal the Maker’s glory in the world through the work of our hands. We believe in a spiritual reality beyond the senses. We also believe that all that is good, true, and beautiful comes from our true Father.

I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God;
God from God, Light from Light,
True God from true God, begotten not made,
Of one being with the Father, through Him all things were made.

Jesus Christ is the revelation of God for humanity. We are instructed that only through Him can we truly know God. There is no other way to be saved or to experience true spiritual reality apart from calling on His name. He is God, not a man who became alert of his ”consciousness of God” or a great enlightened teacher. In this sense, He too is the Creator.

For us and for our salvation, he came down from heaven:
By the power of the Holy Spirit, he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
And was made man.

We believe in Incarnational Reality. God chooses to work through physical means to accomplish spiritual purposes. God chose the womb of Mary to become man, and thereby hallowed the creation. We are called to mirror her unique role, answering “yes” and giving birth to God’s redeeming love in the world. God has become flesh in the man Jesus, and because of this, we can live in Him, and He in us. The sacraments call us once again to this reality, and we can participate with him in them. Just as Jesus came to us in humble flesh, he comes again in Bread and Wine.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
He suffered death and was buried.
The cross is the means of salvation, and the blood of Jesus redeems us from sin
.
We are called to glory in the cross of Jesus Christ, the ultimate image and symbol of God’s redeeming love. We believe that in glorifying the Cross, God will draw all humanity to himself. And we are called to live out the cross in our lives by choosing to die to sin and sinful attitudes and patterns. We are called to die to our own agendas. Jesus gives us the grace to suffer for him, and when we are close to suffering we know that he is close to us. We believe that Jesus continues to suffer in the disguise of the poor, and that in ministering to the needy, we are serving him.

On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures;
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

Jesus conquered death by rising from the grave. In dying with Jesus, we are able to experience the resurrection life of Jesus. He will raise us up. Our ministry and calling is to proclaim to all the world the resurrection power of Jesus Christ. Just as Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father, we too are seated with Him in Heavenly places. We are called to point to that higher reality in the work of our hands and the fruit of our lips.

He will come again to judge the living and the dead,
And his Kingdom will have no end.

We believe that in this day God is calling forth worshipers and artists to create a throne for God in the earth. We are called to prepare his people, and the earth for the day of his coming. Then we shall take our place in His Kingdom.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of Life,
Who proceeds from the Father and the Son:
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the prophets.

The Holy Spirit is the constant giver of life to us. He is the source of our creativity, the fountain of our new ideas, and the revealer of God’s glory. We desire the creative gifts that God has bestowed to be channels and vehicles for the Holy Spirit. We believe that God has stirred and renewed the prophetic and revelatory gifts in this age. The Holy Spirit is the power in the sacraments, our constant companion, and the Presence of Jesus within us. We desire to never grieve Him through sin or hardness of heart.

We believe in one Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church,
We believe that the Church was created and ordained by God, and that our ministries of worship cannot function apart from the Church. We believe the community of Christians is necessary for salvation, and that we must be connected to the Church. We are called to build up the Body of Christ, and only challenge it in prophetic witness, not in rebellion under a cloak of “creative freedom.” We are called to partner with any expression of the church that remains loyal to the universal doctrines of the church, the apostolic heritage of faith and practice, and the Holy Scriptures. We will not partner with any body that denies any aspect of the plain language of apostolic doctrine. We will not partner with anyone who embraces teaching on Christ, Human sexuality, and spirituality contrary to the plain reading of scripture. We also believe that God is calling this ministry to transcend the barriers that have divided Christians, and to live into the “oneness” of the Church. In faithfulness to Jesus, we will gladly join hands with anyone who will join hands with us, believing that he that is not against us is for us.

We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We believe in the healing and restoring power of baptism, as the normal way for entrance into the Christian church. We encourage solid baptismal training, and discourage the practice of rebaptism, believing that God is faithful to His action in the sacraments. We also believe in the ministry of healing, reconciliation and repentance as God’s normal way to re-experience His presence, power, and person.

We look for the resurrection of the dead,
And the life of the world to come. Amen.

We believe that our bodies are sacred, and will be resurrected in a perfect and incorruptible state. We believe that our call is to prepare for the New Heavens and New Earth. God has called us to prepare for Jerusalem. This is our hope. This is our goal. Then we will be His people, He will be our God, and God will wipe all tears from our eyes.
